New House Chip's Room

Pictures of Chip's room and bathroom. That is not the latest lunar eclipse, but Michelle blocking the flash with her hand.

I don't think we have to paint Chip's room either. Although, Burnt Orange and white would be fine in that room too. Or maybe that is what we will paint the game room.
Go Missouri!!!!

New House - KayLyn's Room

So here we have pictures of KayLyn's room and attached bathroom. That door in her bathroom is for her closet. Good thing she likes pink.

New House - Upstairs

These first shots are of the game room upstairs. Chip's room, the media room and the guest room all come off the game room. KayLyn's room is to the right on the other side of the stairs.

Then there is the media room. No good way to photograph this room, but you can see the tangle of cords that I get the work through to make the room work.

Then from the gameroom you can see the backyard in all its natural glory. BTW, the trampoline and the fort are staying.

New House - Details

The last entry showed the exterior. Here are some of pictures of the interior.
First it the entry way with the formal living and dinining room on the right and the staircase on the left. Just before the staircase is the office and a small guest bath.

Next is the kitchen and kitchen table area. Notice the nice vew of the backyard and built in desk. Kitchen has 2 large pantries.

Finally for this post the den, seen from 2 angles. Floor level (with Michelle's hand blocking the flash) and 2 from above showing the full height of the room.

More to come.

New House

This is the exterior of the new house. More pictures to come.

Warren's Team on TV

Warren team was taped by CW 33 during their playoff game. While the Bucs lost to the Vikings the team played hard. They were on the 9pm news on Tuesday.

You see the video here. http://cw33.trb.com/

Look for the video titled Dave's Little Legends Vikings vs. Buccaneers.

UPDATE: The link has been rolled off the CW 33 website. I am going to try to get it on video. Let me know if you want a copy.

Thoughts on Moving

For those that do not know the Duke family is moving. We outgrew this house about 2 months after moving in when Michelle got pregnant with KayLyn. So 9 years after we moved in we are putting the house up for sale and moving to Frisco. Reason one for moving…Michelle has to drive to Frisco to work each day. Neither one of us like that very much.

So as I sit typing this, I realize that there will be some weird things that I will miss. One of those is the airplane noise. For the past 9 years we have lived under the approach and take off pattern for DFW (mostly the approach due to prevailing winds in N. Texas being from the south). So day in and day out part of the sounds of life are those airplane. It will be weird not hearing them. It brings to mind these 3 days after 9/11 where I would walk outside on not see or hear a single commercial airplane. The only planes in sight were those jets flying CAP. Glad to know they were there, but really wish they did not have to be.

Anyway, I realized that the 9 years at this address represents the longest I have lived any single address in my life. That equates to just over 25% of my life so far at this address. Here’s hoping I can replicate this in the new house, because I hate moving.

The house went on the market today. We will keep you up to date as things progress.

Let's not forget KayLyn

Just so that no one thinks all I blog about is football, there is always politics. No, wait, no one wants to hear me rant anymore about politics. Raise your hand if you have not heard me talk politics. (Cue crickets) Okay, we will get to that later.

Any way, we have had a request for pictures of KayLyn with her new haircut, which is not exactly new, but here they are. She is showing off her homework and showing off her team spirit in support of her brother.

Oh, by the way she made the A Honor Roll for the First 6 Weeks. All As. Not bad at all.

Bucs Make the Playoffs

Well, despite what was an overall lackluster performance by the team as a whole in the loss on Saturday to LD Green, the Bucs are in the playoffs. Warren played twice on defense during the game and recorded his first tackle. We did not get a picture of the tackle, but there are other pictures to post.

Saturday, Oct 20 will be the first playoff game. The Bucs (4-3-1) will play the undefeated Vikings at 7:30pm. Obviously the Bucs come into this as the underdogs. The fact remains that there is a reason that these games are played, and it is because anything can happen. As coaches, we are pulling out all the stops to motivate these guys. We are offering rewards for the defensive line for sacks, rewards for the defensive backfield for Interceptions, and for the O-line if we get 2 100 yard rushers in the game. All these rewards are contingent on winning the game.

All I can say at this point is GO BUCS!!!! Beat the Vikings!!!

It is just a kid's game, right?

Then why am I so hacked off. Warren's game today was a loss for his team (Bucs), but the other team (Falcons) did not win the game. The officials did. The zebras were unable (or unwilling) to tell the difference between a black jersey and a silver one and which one was holding the ball, this call led to a TD and 2 pt conversion on the next play that put the Falcons up 14-0.

That was not the zebra's only blunder. There were several non-calls on procedure and illegal substitution.

The Bucs were able to score a touchdown and the game ended at 14-7, putting them at 4-2.

In the first picuture you can see Warren over the ball ready to snap the ball. The second picture you can see the team getting charged up. Or is that yelled at? Do I look happy? :) This last one shows a very unhappy team. We are very proud of the team and how they played despite the challenges given to them by the zebras. All the kids including Warren played their hearts out. that is why something like this is so frustrating.

Pictures at the Homecoming Parade

This is some of Warren’s team.  Warren is standing up in the background.

Warren's Football Homecoming

Saturday was Warren's football Homecoming. Krisi made Warren and KayLyn Homecoming mums. She also made them for Alex and Mehgan Adams, who went to the game with everyone.

Grandma and PeePaw came done from Oklahoma for the weekend and were able to see the game. Paw-Paw and Tia were there as well. Mom did not get to see the game because she was in class at TWU, but she was at the parade cheering us on.

Warren's team, the Buccaneers, won the game 25-0. This put their record for the season up to 4-1, and pretty well ensured them a trip to the playoffs.

Warren is the team's starting Center. This is his first season playing football. You would never know it by the way is plays during the games. He is doing very well and it shows in the team's record.

I am one of the assistant coaches for the team. It is a lot different coaching football than coaching baseball.

The pictures are of Warren, KayLyn, Meghan, and Alex.
